The Third Earthquake In California In The United States Caused A Fire In Three Days

According to CNN, local time (5th) Friday at 8pm, a powerful 7.1-magnitude earthquake shook the buildings and broken foundations of California. The terrified local residents rushed to shelter outdoors. One day ago, California had just had an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4.It is understood that this is the strongest earthquake in California in 20 years. A magnitude 7.1 earthquake occurred in California in 1999, and about 1,700 aftershocks occurred in the area since then. After the earthquake, fires occurred in many places in California.

Some local people said that after every 5 minutes, they could feel an aftershock. Seismologist Lucy Jones said the US Geological Survey found that there will be more aftershocks later, which is clearly a very energetic system.

This is the third earthquake in California in three days. On July 4, during the US National Day, a magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck California, causing at least 24 medical and fire accidents. At least 159 aftershocks occurred after the earthquake. At that time, experts predicted that there might still be strong earthquakes. The US Geological Survey said that when there are more and more earthquakes, the chances of a major earthquake will increase, which means that the damage will be more severe. In the following week, there is a 9% chance that an earthquake larger than 6.4 will occur.
